Pilsner Urquell is the ancestor of the Pilsner class, a bottom-fermented lager. Produced in Pilsen in the Czech Republic.

According to the legend, the Czech brewer Josef Groll brewed the first variety of the Pilsner beer in October 1842, and in 1898, this foamy drink was named Pilsner Urquell, which translates to “Pilsner from the source”.

A key element of the taste of Pilsner Urquell is the ‘noble’ hop variety Zaats, which grows only in Bohemia . In addition, the unique flavor and aftertaste of the beer are due to the special soft water and triple digestion on an open fire.
